Yeah, you're right. The first does suggest the next...I have a question for you. A number of my students claim to see a pink ball in the sky that they believe is Mars. I know its not but I don't have an explanation for the "pink ball" either. Can you help?
I would need to know where they are looking, but any star or planet will look like a point to the naked eye, not a "ball". Try to find out the direction they are looking and the time they see it. Also, does it seem to move, or does it look stationary in the sky? Have they seen it several nights, or only one? Were there a lot of stars in the sky, or was this just about all they could see?
